Simple Minds - Graffiti Soul
It’s been a long
time since Scotland’s Simple Minds rivaled Ireland’s U2 as the kings of
Celtic rock. You’d have to go all the way back to 1985, when the
inclusion of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” in the movie The Breakfast Club
pushed Simple Minds into the stratosphere. But don’t feel sorry for
singer Jim Kerr, who owns homes in Nice and London and a luxury hotel
in Sicily. His band’s latest is a return to form, featuring
radio-friendly rockers like “Rockets” and “Kiss and Fly” that should
keep the coffers filled.
